The Edge Score: Measuring Trading Excellence at MiFunder
Updated this week

At MiFunder, we've developed the Edge Score - a proprietary metric that reveals a trader's true skill and reliability. While we don't impose challenging profit targets on our traders, we believe in fostering sustainable trading practices that benefit both our traders and our platform.

What sets a professional trader apart is their ability to execute their strategy with precision and generate stable returns day after day. The Edge Score helps us identify and reward this crucial professional trait.

How the Edge Score Works

Maximum Value is defined as the higher of the following:

  1. Most Profitable Day: The highest profit recorded in a single trading day.

  2. Most Losing Day: The highest loss recorded in a single trading day.

  3. Most Profitable Trade: The highest profit from a single trade.

  4. Most Losing Trade: The highest loss from a single trade.

We calculate the Edge Score by comparing your most profitable trading day against your overall trading performance. This helps us distinguish between skilled trading patterns and random successful trades.

Important Notes:

  • Edge score threshold is 15% - Your edge score should not exceed this.

  • Our Edge Score is designed to encourage sustainable trading practices

  • There are no fixed profit requirements

  • The focus is on repeatable performance and proven strategy execution

  • If your Edge Score exceeds required threshold during review periods, your payout will simply roll over to the next payout cycle (Biweekly). This isn't a penalty - it's our way of encouraging the development of reliable trading habits.

Example of Edge Score Calculation:

Let's look at a real trading scenario:

Starting Account: $60,000

After 10 Trading Days: $64,250

Total Trading Gain: $4,250

Best Single Day Profit: $1,280

Edge Score = $1,280/$4,250 = 30.1%

When the trader adds another profitable day of $725:

Updated Total Gain: $4,975

Edge Score Updates to: $1,280/$4,975 = 25.7%

This shows how maintaining steady profits helps improve your Edge Score over time, as your highest day becomes a smaller portion of your total gains. It demonstrates the value of steady, skilled trading rather than relying on occasional big wins.

At MiFunder, we believe that true trading success comes from maintaining a dependable edge in the markets.

Managing a High Edge Score at MiFunder

How to Improve Your Edge Score:

The key is to maintain a balanced trading approach. If your highest profit day was $1,280, aim to achieve similar results in your subsequent trades. Your daily profits can vary around this range - this approach will naturally strengthen your Edge Score more effectively.

Remember: The Edge Score isn't about limiting your profits - it's about showcasing your ability to replicate successful trading days.
